About Us

InfoEd International, Inc.

InfoEd’s founder and president, Ed Johnson, guides the company with the insights earned from forty years of industry experience. Prior to starting the company Mr. Johnson was the Director of Administrative Systems for the State University of New York Research Foundation. While at the Foundation he developed the funding opportunity database SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network), which was subsequently licensed to become InfoEd’s maiden product. SPIN now represents one product within a suite of integrated software solutions that InfoEd develops, markets, and supports.

Today, InfoEd is the largest company serving the research community by virtually any measure - products offered; software licenses sold; full-time staff; and countries served. While the majority of the NY-based company’s customers are in the US, however the company has rapidly expanded its international business in recent years and works with many of the world’s premier research organizations. As a result InfoEd now has offices in England, South Africa, and Australia, with more anticipated in the next few years. In total, the company has a team of nearly 120 full time employees.

A Flexible Standard

InfoEd’s expert systems support the common missions of research offices worldwide while providing the built-in flexibility necessary to accommodate each customer’s unique requirements. Instead of building disparate custom solutions for each customer, InfoEd offers its highly-configurable base-lined code as a standard that ensures consistent support, an open exchange of best practices, and regular upgrades that keep all customers current with regulations and technology.

The base-lined code provides a valuable common ground for InfoEd and its customers. With over 600 institutions using InfoEd worldwide, InfoEd is able to gather lessons learned from thousands of expert users. Feedback is collected in daily communications, a customer ListServ, ad hoc advisory groups, and an annual User Group Meeting.

Since upgrades are included with InfoEd’s maintenance and support, InfoEd customers benefit from a continuously enhanced platform as opposed to a static product. This is critical distinction given the evolving nature of government regulations and requirements. Upgrades also ensure forward technological migration to keep systems up to date with the state-of-the-art. InfoEd products are sound investments that uniquely appreciate over time.
