Northern Illinois University Going Live With InfoEd's Grants Management Software
Phased Implementation of Enterprise-wide Research Administration Software Solution
ALBANY, New York - September 25, 2008
InfoEd International, Inc., the leading provider of software solutions for electronic Research Administration (eRA), has announced that Northern Illinois University (NIU) has gone live with InfoEd's Proposal Tracking software for electronic Grant Management. As part of an enterprise-wide research administration initiative, NIU contracted with the company for its pre award grants, Research Compliance and Technology Transfer solutions.
NIU has a reputation for excellence, innovation, and enterprise in research. Annually the University expends $16.7 million on research.
Dara Little, Assistant Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), had this to say regarding the implementation: "The Proposal Tracking module significantly influenced the way that we conduct our business in OSP. The implementation process allowed us to re-evaluate current business processes and identify areas for improvement. I believe that OSP is better able to serve the NIU campus through a series of initiatives that resulted from our use of the Proposal Tracking module. Some of these initiatives included transitioning to electronic award notifications, digitalizing all OSP records, improving the monitoring of external funding data, and significantly increasing reporting capabilities. There is no doubt that Proposal Tracking will assist NIU as we evaluate our current external funding portfolio and set strategic goals to increase such funding."
In response to a question with regards to working with InfoEd, Ms. Little stated "InfoEd is very much a customer centric company, one that prides itself on meeting the unique requirements that exist in the broad field of research administration. This customer service approach is what allowed OSP to successfully implement Proposal Tracking. We are confident that we will receive the same level of service through our implementation of Proposal Development."
Edward Johnson, President of InfoEd International, said "With already having implemented Infoed's compliance and technology transfer tracking modules, This is another success story for Northern Illinois University. We are proud to see that Infoed's modules are becoming the enterprise standard with which the office is operating and look forward to NIU's implementation of the Proposal and Compliance development modules."
